Bonk's Mischief 2012

Getting those bad reindeer with the boy's Angry Birds.

Starting Pirate Battles in Mommy and Daddy's bath tub.
Playing Candyland with Santa, Rudolph, and another elf.

Polar Express in the middle of the night, he must be getting home sick.

Not again Bonk! Stay out of the toilet paper.

Wow, he must have been getting really home sick, if he was willing to stay in the freezer to make a snowman.

Mmmm,  syrup!

Stomp Rocket Misadventures.

They make chocolate Cheerios?

What a disaster!

A friendly reminder after surprising us at Mimi and Big Pop's

Thanks for a great 2012 visit Bonk!  Enjoy your vacation and  we will see you again next year.

6 yr old check up....

Weight 54lb--93%
Height 48.5in--95%

On his current progression, since he has been in the 95% in height ever since he was born, Luke will be between 6" 2 and 6" 4. Yikes!

happy birthday!!!

Sorry a little late on this one but Luke had a great birthday celebration! Mimi and Beth came to help him celebrate and after a morning trip to the children's museum, as Luke put it, he got to "the good stuff!"
His big present: a telescope!
Although I think he needs some more instruction...:)
Darth Maul!!

In lieu of birthday cake, he requested fondue--chocolate with angel
food cake, strawberries and pretzels for dipping! Unusual but delicious!

lightening crashes...

One tooth enters our life and one tooth falls. Yes it is official--Luke is a big kid. Still not sure why the teeth are hitting me so hard, but there it is. I suppose it is because it just changes their beautiful smiling faces. We'll see if the facial hair does the same thing....in 25, 30 yrs, right?

game ball!!....

Luke won the game ball on Tuesday! He won for his hustle (from the pitcher position, including an impressive back-hand grab) and his hitting (.666 from an actual pitch, not a tee.) He was so proud, as were Mom and Dad!

at the arty art show...

Luke's school has an amazing art program and had an art show last week to show off some of the great work. Watercolors, sculptures, collages--all on display, as well as a musical performance from Wicked and the Wizard of Oz. Luke had 2 pieces chosen to be displayed and was so proud to show them off!

From their studies of Columbus Day....is it the Nina, the Pinta or the Santa Maria?

my bonnet in the easter parade....

He is soooo handsome! And had the best easter hat, I think--it is hard to come up with a manly easter hat. We took a top hat from Party City (or Birthday City, as Henry calls it) and added some dollar bunny ears from Target, some construction paper grass and plastic easter eggs and voila!

Take me out to the ballgame

Luke finally had his first T-ball game on Saturday after getting rained out of several practices and a game. He was 3 for 3 at the plate, scoring 2 runs and played shortstop, catcher and 1st base and notched an unassisted force out while playing 1st. While there were several scruns trying to get to the ball and few kids who tried to run to the pitchers mound after hitting, overall the kids all did really good, and most importantly looked like they were having a blast.

Here are a few videos of Mighty Lucas at the plate.

It's a mystery

Last Friday, our family was slotted to provide the "Mystery Reader" for Henry's 3 year old class. As we were trying to decide which of us would do the honors, I had the (modestly) great idea of asking Luke if he wanted to do it as he was out on Spring Break. Luke very enthusiastically accepted and could hardly contain himself all week, almost spilling the beans to Henry on more than one occasion. Well as you will see in the video, other than being a little too quiet for a room full of 3 year olds, Luke did an incredible job.

angry birds...

So Lucas has discovered angry birds on my tablet (and my phone and Daddy's phone and...)and loves it--and he is awesome. He has beat levels that I haven't yet. For Christmas he got some stuffed birds and pigs and now he loves to set-up "levels" for Mom and Dad to beat.
the set-up...
and the final destruction!
