baby brother is here!!

Luke became a big brother today at 11:44 am.

Poor Luke was watching Mickey when he suddenly was flung into the neighbor's arms as Mom and Dad dashed to the hospital, barely in time. Reportedly Luke just kind of wandered around the house for about 30 minutes, seemingly saying, what am I doing here? After a brief nap, Daddy picked up Luke and brought him to the hospital to meet baby brother Henry Michael. He seems, so far, to like his new brother--he gives kisses and gets a little distressed when Henry cries. Luke insists that Baby Henry be apart of his bedtime routine. Then the rest of the time, Luke just goes on about his day. Which is probably normal for a 2 year-old...

This is Luke, about to head to his first day of preschool. He did great, only a few tears when Daddy left him at the door, but he recovered quickly and loved painting and playing in the kitchen center in his class.

wash, wash, wash...

This weekend, we decided to clean out and wash our cars before the new baby comes--call it "nesting," if you must......Anyway, Luke was in heaven!!

He loves playing in the car anyway, and when we took out all the car seats to clean, he discovered that in Daddy's car, there is a passageway between the trunk and the backseat--what fun!!

We have not been allowed to wash cars here lately (with the drought and all) but what we have been missing!! There are a tons of shots and videos of this, but here are few of the best. The whole morning was hilarious and so fun!! I'll post more pics on shutterfly.

We visited Daddy's office last week and of course, Luke was instantly attracted to the computer (remind us of anyone?) He even knew how to use the mouse....Scary or genius?

Our wonderful neighbor across the street sent me home from her baby shower/brunch with some little cakes, or petit fours, for Luke. He loved eating the "little cakes"...

Well, he loved about half of it...then he was done eating and wanted the icing off of his hands instead! "Wipe hands, Mama. Need napkin." How sweet!! I think he is more of acookie kid. It was pretty sweet cake.
