playing with mimi and bethie...

Mimi and Beth came to spend the weekend with Luke and Henry (and Mommy and Daddy snuck out to see Wicked !) and they both behaved beautifully. Luke loved playing with Mimi, especially when she taught him a new game of throwing pinecones down the slide and when she made him "Mimi cookies" (her special chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, that no one can seem to replicate.)

Picking out the cones..

Tossing them down..

How can I get them up there?

"Walk, walk" is what Luke kept saying while performing on the balance beam..

Time out for kisses!

ah, they start so young...

So the other day, I came into the playroom to find Luke up in the chair at the computer, typing furiously and clicking the mouse. I said, "Luke what are you doing? You are not supposed to touch the computer."
He looked at me and said, "Email, Mommy. Luke email." I had to turn around so he would not see me laughing. Guess he hears that a bit.
Since then he loves typing his letters and numbers on the computer and asks me to "spell mama. spell dada. spell luke. spell knee. spell toe." He types all his numbers and letters and sings the ABC song.
Hilarious!!

pumpkin patch...

We went back to the pumpkin patch this year, and it was an even bigger hit than last year. Luke loved the farm animals and all the pumpkins....
Riding on the hayride was a big hit too..

Kisses for baby brother, who pretty much slept through the entire morning..
Mommy, Luke and Baby Henry...

When the economy falls apart and we have to revert to a farm culture, at least Luke has a useful skill....

However the most popular thing of the day was a little bag of popcorn we got for Luke. If you ask him what he did at the pumpkin patch, he will tell you that he ate popcorn.Who knew a tiny bag of popcorn would make him so happy?

Driving the tractor with all the boys...

The entire family....

Luke loves musical instruments of all kinds and loves his music class at school, but this is his first harmonica and it is a big hit!

i am helping out...

At Mur and King's house, Luke took it upon himself to help out: he took a stack of paper plates and began to set the table. Then he bgan naming who he thought should sit where: "Mommy here. Daddy here. Luke here. Gigi here. Mur here," etc. What an adorable little control freak!
