can't catch me...

Luke and I have been reading "The Gingerbread Man" and he loves it so much that we decided to make gingerbread men yesterday. We decorated them and, of course, more M+M's made it into Luke than onto the men! He had such fun taking the gingerbread man and putting him in his play oven and making him jump out and run away...

Luke's gingerbread man...

Oh boy!!!!

Hmmm... I see an M+M.

Can I get it off??

Yes!! Yum!

I painted Luke's new room, in anticipation of him moving across the hall soon. And of course Luke wanted to help too!! Look how happy he is! And he loves his new room and cannot wait to move in and get a big boy bed....

christmas....

Christmas!! We had come home from Mobile on Christmas Eve and so we had a quiet Christmas with just the four of us. The pictures below will tell the tale but a wonderful day was had by all of us.
A tradition in my house growing up was Mom making a pizza in the shape of a Christmas tree. While we got home too late for me to make a pizza, Sam got a frozen one and cut it into the shape of a tree. Luke thought it was great.

Preparing the plate for Santa and his reindeer...(The banana is for the deer, because when we went to visit Santa and his reindeer, that is what they were eating.)

The boys, getting ready for bed with dreams of sugarplums...

Coming downstairs..

He was literally speechless...

Cooking his fabulous meal..

He is "calling Mimi, to find out how to make cookies"

His second favorite toy, his RC racing car..

Daddy set up a ramp for Luke to zoom his car up...

He said "I love my car and my kitchen, Mommy"

I'll get more pictures up on the website soon....

mimi and papaw's house...

We all went to Mimi and Papaw's house to visit them and Bethie and Uncle Brad and Aunt Lala were in town too! It was a full house. We all had a lot of fun and ate too much and opened presents and had a good time too. And while Luke recovered from his bout of pnuemonia and the rest of us got colds, Mimi took care of all of us! These are just a few pictures from Mobile...

Luke loves the desk area in Mimi's kitchen. He crawled in there all the time and ate his snacks too, calling it his "bear cave." Then he would come out, growling and crawling like a little bear.

All smiles in the bear cave!

pink pig train!....

On Monday, we went to meet Daddy at his office for lunch and a ride on the Pink Pig train at Macy's. It is an Atlanta institution, starting back in the 1950's as a monorail at Rich's Department Store at Christmas time. (I think liability issues, probably, now have made it an on-the-ground train.) It just goes in a little circle--not much too it, but Luke loves seeing the Christmas trees and riding on the train with Mommy!

santa! and his reindeer too....

The local whole foods store played host to Santa and his reindeer for an outside visit this weekend. Luke was so excited to see Santa but was more excited by the reindeer and seeing them eat some bananas...

petting zoo at school....

A local petting farm came up to Luke's preschool and brought several animals for the kids to checkout. Henry and I came to check it out with Luke's class and braved the cold, blustery day. Let me first say, you have not seen fun until you have seen 12 2-yr-old boys and farm animals. Hilarious! But all the boys loved the animals and all walked around, moo-ing and baa-ing and cheep-ing.

What end of a goat is this?

Nice horsie...

brushing the horse..

Ewan and Luke, harassing a goat..

Hey check it out, Colin!

Looking at a baby chick with Farmer Sue..

what luke is thankful for....

As part of Thanksgiving at school, the parents were asked to talk about being thankful and what it means. So I gave this very inspirational speech about being grateful and having things that not all little boys have and, well, it was very moving. So at the end, I asked Luke what he was thankful for....

"Ice cream" was his answer. I think I made a really impression.
