Luke did chop down the cherry tree!!

A dead tree in the corner of the yard needs to

come out the make room for a new shed.
Luke was very intrigued, especially when the little tree just

kind of fell out of the ground (it was really dead.)

zoo trip...

On a spur-of-the-moment trip, we met some friends and their kids at the Atlanta Zoo this week. It was so much fun! The weather was great and the kids loved running around and seeing all the animals. Luke loved seeing all the animals he recognized from his zoo babies book. He got a little worn out after lunch, but after I put him in his carrier and walked around a bit, he perked up once we got to the petting zoo and the playground. Although his big hit of the day was the carousel! I was not sure he would like it (I was betting the train would be a bigger hit) but he loved it!! He kept pointing back at it and trying to say "care, care" (that was as much of "carousel" as he could say.) We all had a great time!! Check out all the pictures on the website.

mimi and papaw visit!

Mimi, Papaw and Auntie Beth came to visit this weekend. Despite the bad weather all around us, we saw none of it and were safe. Luke warmed up to everyone much quicker this time around: we had talked about who was coming to visit and looked at lots of pictures. Papaw and Luke went on lots of walks--that sealed the deal with Papaw, if you ask me. Luke loves going outside and anyone who will go with him must be a friend!

my first REAL haircut....

Since Luke is a little too big and feisty for me to try to cut his hair, we went to a local kids' shop down the road. Luke did so great! I know he would not have done this well for me at home. Thanks to the fun 3-wheeler he got to sit on and a little TV with Barney on it, he barely noticed he was getting a haircut. He looks so much like a little boy now!
